Your care provider starts by using cheek retractors to keep your mouth open, with teeth exposed, for the treatment. Then, your care provider protects your gums and paints the whitening gel onto your teeth.
Next, your care provider exposes your teeth to the Zoom! halide light, which activates the whitening gel, for a period of 15 minutes. After your care provider removes the gel and rinses your mouth, they’ll repeat the process twice more for a total of 45 minutes treatment time. You’ll leave the office with much whiter and brighter teeth!
How does take-home whitening work?
Take-home teeth whitening works best when you have custom-made whitening trays that distribute the whitening product evenly across all your teeth. Your first appointment consists of making impressions of your teeth so the molds can be made.
When your custom whitening trays are ready, you’ll return to Allen and Schwarz Dental so your dentist can check the fit. You’ll go home with the whitening trays and whitening solution. Depending on your goals and needs, you’ll wear the whitening trays for either 30 minutes daily for two weeks or overnight for 1-2 weeks.
